Laura Louise Watts


Laura Louise Watts, BA, Dip.TCMP, R.Ac Laura (she/her) graduated with Honours from the Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning with an Advanced Diploma in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner program. She is a Registered Acupuncturist with the Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Nova Scotia (ATCMANS). Laura also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trent University and a Post-Diploma Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language from George Brown College. She taught language in Canada and abroad for many years. It was while working in China that she became interested in Acupuncture. She experienced its profound effects first hand and saw how well it integrates with Standard Western Medicine in hospital. As an educator, she is passionate about sharing the benefits of Chinese Medicine, and she enjoys talking with clients about health and wellness. Laura developed her skills at the Tzu Chi Clinic, the People with AIDS Foundation, interdisciplinary clinics, and internships with respected and experienced Chinese Medicine Practitioners. Her extensive clinical experience involves treating pain, headache, menstrual issues, fertility, peri/menopausal symptoms, male reproductive health, autoimmune diseases, digestion issues, insomnia, and fatigue, as well as mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and stress management. There are several techniques that Laura uses to help restore health, balance, and wellbeing, such as Acupuncture, Cupping, Tuina and Guasha (Chinese Massage), and Herbal Medicinal Formulas. Her training in martial arts helps her to sense and respond to energy patterns in the body. Each client is viewed as a whole person, focusing on the pattern rather than the disease, resulting in a treatment plan unique for each client.
